2018 East Asia Cup Day 3 Preview: Final rescheduled due to Typhoon Mangkhut

Cricket Hong Kong have announced that the final round of group matches in the 2018 East Asia Cup along with the Final of the tournament will be played on 15th Sep 2018 and all the fixtures scheduled for Sunday (16th Sep 2018) will be cancelled, due to Typhoon Mangkhut, which is scheduled to hit Hong Kong on Sunday.

Japan remained unbeaten after the 2nd round of round-robin fixtures after registering a big margin victory over Korea, while China registered their first win of the tournament after defeating CHK Dragons in the 2nd match of the day. With Final scheduled for the 3rd day, Japan, Korea and China are still in the play to make it to the final.
Japan scored 158/6 in their innings and bowled out Korea for a paltry 74 runs to win by 84 runs while China chased down 107/9 set by CHK Dragons by scoring 112/6 to win the match by 4 wickets. Japan’s Makoto Taniyama continued his good form from the opening day as he made his first half-century of the tournament, while CHK Dragons Jason Lui smashed his second half-century of the tournament. China’s Tian Suqing played a crucial knock of 45 to take the team to their first win of the tournament.
Korea’s Kim Daeyeon could not contribute much with the bat but managed to pick up his International T20 hat-trick in the match against Japan towards the end of their innings.
