Auty Cup returns in 2021 as Canada host’s USA in July

Cricket Canada will be hosting the men’s national squad of USA in the 3-match Auty Cup series in the 50-overs format from July 26th – 30th, 2021. The series is awaiting final approval from the Canadian health authorities owing to COVID-19 pandemic.

The K.A Auty Cup has been an annual series hosted alternately by Cricket Canada and USA Cricket. First held in 1844, it is touted as the longest running International competition of any format. However, the series saw a hiatus of 17 long years from 1994 due to financial difficulties for staging the series, and was revived once again in 2011. The last edition was held in 2017, which was won by USA.

The 2021 edition will see USA extend their stay in Canada, after taking part in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier, which Canada is hosting from July 17th – 23rd, 2021. The series will prepare both Canada and USA for their upcoming tournaments in 2023 CWC League 2 and CWC Challenge League.

Discussions are ongoing to hold the Auty Cup series in 2021 for both Women’s and U19 squads as well.
