Cricket Sweden have announced a busy schedule ahead for the men’s national squad in August and September 2021, with National head coach Jonty Rhodes outlining his priorities (specifically on Fitness standards) for selection in the national squad. The Board organized the Super-skills sessions in the previous months, with over 184 players registering their interest and 90+ ICC eligible players attending the sessions and receiving scores.
The national squad will have plenty of on-field action to look forward to, with tours scheduled in August to Denmark and Finland. The Denmark tour will take place from August 13th – 15th and will involve three T20I matches, while the Finland tour will take place from August 20th – 23rd and will involve four T20I matches, in a bid to improve the rankings in the ICC Men’s T20I team rankings table.
In September, the national squad will travel to Spain to take part in the European Cricket Championships (ECC) T10 event at Cartama Oval in Malaga (organized by European Cricket Network) from September 13th – 17th, where they have been grouped alongside Belgium, Spain, Norway and Scotland “A”. Jonty Rhodes will be overlooking the proceedings for the national selection trials, as around 50 players from both South and North group will take part in the trails in July 2021.
