Scotland players begin campaign in 2021 Women’s County Cricket

Competitive cricket returns for Scotland Women’s players, as the national “A” side takes the field against a North of England Representative side in Preston on 25th April 2021 in two T20 matches. Spectators are not allowed at this season’s County T20 fixtures at any of the venues under current COVID-19 guidelines, with very limited exceptions.

Scotland “A” are placed in the North Group T20 region group and will compete against team’s from Cumbria Cricket Club, Lancashire Cricket Club (2 teams), North East Warriors Cricket Club and Yorkshire Cricket Club. This will be the first time the Scotland players will be playing in over an year due to COVID-19 pandemic and head coach Mark Coles is looking forward to seeing his players take to the field.

The Bryce sisters (Sarah and Kathryn), Abtaha Maqsood and Abbi Aitken-Drummond are not part of the squad announced by Cricket Scotland. Both Sarah and Kathryn are currently with the Lighting Cricket squad, and playing inter-squad fixtures to prepare for the upcoming Women’s Regional T20 competition and The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
