Rwanda Cricket to host inaugural edition of East Africa T20I series

Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) will be hosting the inaugural edition of East Africa T20I (Tri-Nation T20 Cup) series from December 11th – 24th, 2022 at the Gahanga International ground in Kigali. Men’s teams from Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania will be competing for the Title. The series will be a nice precursor to the upcoming Africa Finals next year in Namibia towards qualification for 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, as Rwanda Men’s team will get the opportunity to play against the teams they will face during that tournament.

The series is also crucial for Tanzania, as they look to secure their chances of playing in the CWC Challenge League play-off tournament, along with three (3) other countries based on T20I team ranking at the cut-off date this year-end, and will play against the bottom two (2) teams each from the current CWC Challenge League cycle groups.
