European Cricket Championships (ECC) set for tough battle in 2022

The second edition of the European Cricket Championships tournament, due to take place from September 12th – October 14th, 2022 will be held at Cartama Oval in Spain. The event is an ICC sanctioned T10 tournament, which will be organized by European Cricket Network (ECN) and Dream11 being the Title sponsor. A total of twenty (20) European countries are scheduled to take part in the tournament, with four (4) groups of five (5) teams each, and is an increase from the 15 teams that competed in the inaugural edition in 2021.

Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands have been playing International cricket in their respective home summers in 2022, while the remaining countries (except Germany) have recently taken part in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup European sub-regional qualifiers in Finland and Belgium, and will be much better prepared for the event than last year. Winner of each of the four groups will advance to the Finals week from October 10th – 14th, where the Defending Champions from last year (England XI) will join them.
