In a first, Cricket Germany (DCB) have announced the formation on the first ever national men’s T20 ‘Bundesliga’ competition, which will take place from 16th April – 26th June, 2022. The competition will feature twelve (12) teams in total in two groups, Group A (North) & Group B (South), with players coming in from clubs featuring in regional tournaments in the six (6) regions across the country.
Group A will feature the top two (2) teams each (from 2021 season) from the regions of NDCV, ODCV & WDCV. Group B will feature the top two (2) teams each (from 2021 season) from the regions of HCV, BCV & BWCV. The group champion of the Bundesliga South and Bundesliga North will compete in the final to become the winner of Bundesliga. The last 2 teams in the Bundesliga North and Bundesliga South will be relegated for the 2023 season.
Group A (Fixtures and Results): Kummerfelder SV, SG Findorff, BSC Rehberge, Berlin CC, Düsseldorf Blackcaps and Köln CC
Group B (Fixtures and Results): MSC Frankfurt, Darmstadt CC, SV Wacker Burghausen, Cricket Club Bayern, TV Pflugfelden and TFG Rohrbach
The qualification for the T20 Bundesliga 2023 season will be played with the top teams from each of the four regional zones, with each zone to feature one team into the national T20 Bundesliga 2023.
Zone 1 – NDCV & ODCV
Zone 2 – CN & WDCV
Zone 3 – SCV & BCV
Zone 4 – HCV & BWCV
