Cricket Scotland will host the Women’s national squad of Ireland from September 05th – 08th, for a series comprising of three (3) WT20Is at the Grange cricket club in Edinburgh. The series will be the final preparatory assignment for both the teams, as they travel to UAE for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global qualifier in September.
This will be the first meeting between the two countries after their previous meeting at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier in Spain last year. Ireland Women have had competitive game-time in the recent home series against Australia, Pakistan and South Africa, and will be travelling to Netherlands in the final week of August to play a three (3) match WODI series against their host’s.
Scotland Women’s previous assignment came during January this year, when they travelled to Malaysia for the Commonwealth Games qualifier tournament, and played against the likes of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The Scottish squad includes current U19 squad members in Olivia Bell and Katherine Fraser, who were part of the victorious team in the recently concluded ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup Europe qualifier in Netherlands.
