Queensland Cricket is set to organize the inaugural edition of KFC T20 Max series from August 18th – September 04th, 2022 at the newly redeveloped Allan Border Field and at other Premier club grounds. Each Premier club in the competition can sign three interstate or international recruits, as well as regional players to complement their existing teams, with contracted Queensland Bulls and Brisbane Heat players available for selection.
Papua New Guinea (PNG) national squad members Norman Vanua, Chad Soper and Charles Amini Jnr have been signed up by Sandgate-Redcliffe cricket club for the competition. The PNG players will thus extend their stay in Australia following their participation in the CDU Top End T20 tournament in Darwin from August 11th – 21st with their national squad. Cricket PNG are scheduled to host their home leg of the CWC League 2 ODI Tri-series in September 2022, and this experience for the players in Australia will be valuable for their preparations. They will join former Netherlands International Ben Cooper as the club’s interstate/international signings for the competition.
