Cricket Papua New Guinea (CPNG) have commenced the inaugural edition of Village Premier League T10 (VPL T10) competition at Amini Park ground in Port Moresby, which will take place from 08th – 15th May, 2022. The competition will see six (6) franchise teams compete for the title, namely Fairprice Furniture Mambas, Panamex PNG, Gamoga Lawyers Spirit of Rigo, Northern Alexanders, Koita Warriors and Zara Wanderer’s.
The player draft for the tournament was held on 09th April 2022, with John Boge Reva (Panamex PNG), Vani Vagi Morea (Zara Wanderer’s) and Ravini Oa (Fairprice Furniture Mambas) getting the highest prices in the draft. All the franchises selected a squad of 13 players from the draft, which featured around 100 players and included three (3) PNG Lewas players in Ravini Oa, Tanya Ruma and Vicky Ara’a. All the group stage matches will take place on 08th May 2022, while the knock-out stage matches will take place on 15th May 2022.
