Cricket Scotland (CS) have announced that the Men’s and Women’s domestic regional series will be taking place this year to prepare both the squads for their upcoming ICC tournaments in September and October/November 2022. The Women’s Super Series will take place on 23rd July and 06th August, while the Men’s Super Series will take place from September 10th – 17th, 2022.
The Women’s Super Series will see four (4) T20 matches played between the two (2) squads, and will be part of the selection criteria competition for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup global qualifier in Dubai in September 2022. The Men’s Super series will see teams from The Caledonian Highlanders, Eastern Knights and Western Warriors play each other in a double round-robin group stage format to determine the T20 Blitz Champions. The Men’s squad will then travel to Australia in October to take part in the first round of 2022 Men’s T20 World Cup, while the Women’s teams will be further playing home games against visiting teams from Ireland and Faribreak Global before heading to UAE.
