Schedule announced for Cricket in 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia

The thirty-second (32nd) edition of the South East Asian (SEA) games is scheduled to take place from 05th to 16th May 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The SEA Games Federation Council (SGFC) members and Cambodia’s Olympic Council met from July 11th to 13th in Phnom Penh and approved cricket’s inclusion in the list 39 sports disciplines for the games. Men’s and Women’s T20 categories will be played with T20I status with ranking points, while 50-overs/T10 formats and 6-a-side format will also be played during the games for Medals in both the categories from April 28th – May 16th at the AZ Group Cricket Oval at Hun Sen Boulevard, Phnom Penh.

Malaysia Cricket Association (MCA) teams bagged Gold in the men’s 50-overs format, Silver in the Men’s T20 category and Bronze in Women’s T20 category in the 2017 edition of the Games. Other members to have achieved success in the previous edition of the Games includes Singapore, whose teams claimed the Gold in the Men’s T20 and Silver in the 50-overs format, while Thailand Women won the Gold in the Women’s T20 category.
