    Hi,

Matches of the 2022 Men’s edition did not have T20I status. What about the matches that will be played in 2023 Championship?

Wondering the same thing. Does anyone know? It would be as ridiculous as it was last year if the games involving ICC members in this tournament are not awarded T20I status.

Just checked that as of now CzarSportsAuto is categorising these matches, in Fixtures table, as T20Is.

      • Hello Frank

The decision to have the matches played with T20 International status (with ICC ranking points) rests on the organizing and participating Cricket Boards. If they wish to, the approval needs to be taken from ICC and then have to incur the expenses to have the ICC compliance teams, match officials and others.

Yeah, red tape. Ridiculous. Farcical even.

    Hi

Just checked that matches in which Uruguay or Columbia is playing well have a T20 status, rest all well have a T20I status.

Actually no, all matches involving Peru, Panama and maybe even Brazil will not have T20I status. Only matches between and involving Chile, Argentina and Mexico have T20I status. Not sure why. Given that Peru, Panama and Brazil are ICC members, this is another stupid red-tape decision. Dumb as.

T20I status for some ICC member games (Argentina, Chile and Mexico) and not for others (Brazil, Panama and Peru) in this tournament is a joke. It brings the grand game of cricket into disrepute and makes a mockery of it.
