Cricket Scotland (CS) have been awarded the hosting rights by International Cricket Council (ICC) for the upcoming 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Finals (qualifiers), and will be taking place in Edinburgh from July 20th – 28th, 2023. The Europe Finals will see Men’s teams from Scotland, Ireland, Jersey, Denmark, Germany, Italy and Austria compete for two (2) qualification spots into the draw of the 2024 event in West Indies and USA.
While Scotland and Ireland were pushed back into the regional finals due to their positioning in the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup (both were eliminated in the Super12 stage and did not finish in Top 8), while Jersey and Germany were pushed back into the event after they failed to advance to the 2022 main draw from the Global qualifiers held in Oman and Zimbabwe respectively in January 2022 and July 2022. Teams from Denmark, Italy and Austria won their respective sub-regional qualifiers held in Finland and Belgium in 2022 to advance to the regional Finals.
All teams in the Finals will play against each other in a single round-robin group stage format, with the top two (2) teams in the points table at the conclusion of the event securing their place in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
