Cricket Namibia to host T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in November 2023

Cricket Namibia (CN) will be hosting the Africa Qualifier (Finals) for qualification towards 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA from November 20th – December 01st, 2023 in Windhoek. Men’s National teams from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Uganda will be competing for the two (2) qualification spots from the region into the main draw of the T20 World Cup.

The highlight from the Sub-Regional qualifiers held in 2022 were in the form of the host’s Rwanda, who registered a win over a more-fancied Botswana side at the beginning of the tournament, and held onto the second (2nd) spot in the points table to qualify for their maiden Africa Finals tournament. Mozambique were the surprise package from that qualifier, as they finished third (3rd) in the group and lost only to the eventual qualifiers in Rwanda and Kenya. Tanzania and Nigeria, on the other hand, did not face much stiff competition in their group.
