The tenth (10th) edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) and SLC (Sri Lanka Cricket) from February 07th – March 08th, 2025, with more than USD 11 million to be distributed among the teams as Prize Money. The format of the tournament remains the same as the previous edition held in the US and the Caribbean Islands in 2024, with twenty (20) teams divided into five (5) groups of four (4) each. The top two (2) teams from each of the four (4) groups advance to the Super Eight (Super8) phase, where they will be further divided into two (2) groups of four (4) each. The top two teams (2) in each of the two Super Eights groups will then qualify for the semi-finals, which will be followed by the FINAL.
Apart from the co-hosts India and Sri Lanka, the other eighteen (18) teams participating in the T20 World Cup are Afghanistan, Australia, Scotland (replaced Bangladesh as the highest T20I ranked team outside of the other participants in the competition), England, South Africa, United States of America, West Indies, New Zealand, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada (Americas Qualifier), Italy (Europe Qualifier), Netherlands (Europe Qualifier), Namibia (Africa Qualifier), Zimbabwe (Africa Qualifier), Nepal (Asia-EAP Qualifier), Oman (Asia-EAP Qualifier) and United Arab Emirates (Asia-EAP Qualifier).

All teams at the ICC Men’s #T20WorldCup2026 will be assured of a minimum of USD 112,500 as base prize money, with more than USD 11 million to be distributed among the teams.
Teams who finish from 13th to 20th will earn USDÂ 112,500; those finishing 9th to 12th will earn USDÂ 135,000; and those between 5th and 8th eighth will earn USDÂ 270,000. Teams who exit at the semi-final stage will earn USDÂ 675,000, with the runners-up earning USDÂ 1,170,000 and the winners awarded USDÂ 2,340,000. Every team will also receive the minimum guaranteed purse, with an additional USDÂ 31,154 on offer for each match win.
