Why no Peru or Chile?
Falkland Islands and Turks/Caicos Islands seem lost to the world of international competition too?
Exactly, Americas can afford to have two sub-regionals
Having 2 subregionals for Americas would not have been easy because 3 teams from sub regional qualify for the finals.
There wouldn’t have any rationale of 2 different sub regionals when inall 3 teams join Canada for the finals.
Or else, ICC would have to select 2 qualifiers each from both the sub regions
Hogwash. All other regions in the world are accommodated. There is no reason why all the countries in this region cannot be too.
No Costa Rica either!
Peru and Chile played SAMC this year albeit with no t20I status… Probably they have not been able to manage a proper eligible playing XI till now. However, good to see Suriname debuting in t20Is and Brazil, Belize and Mexico too playing in icc qualification for the first time with t20I status
