Cyprus Cricket to host 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Sub-regional Qualifier A in May 2026

The International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced the Europe qualification pathway for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028, featuring three (3) sub-regional qualification events (Sub-regional Qualifier A, Sub-regional Qualifier B and Sub-regional Qualifier C) to be staged across Cyprus, Denmark and Finland in 2026. Cyprus Cricket is set to host its first ICC T20 World Cup pathway event, and first ICC event since 2009, when they hosted the ICC European Division Four Championships, which was a regional qualifying event for the World Cricket League (WCL) cycle that fed into the 2011 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup qualification process.

Cyprus Cricket will be hosting the Men’s National teams of Austria, Croatia, France, Guernsey, Jersey, Malta, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland in Qualifier A from May 16th – 23rd, 2026. The teams have been divided into two (2) groups, and will follow a single round-robin group stage format, followed by FINAL between the top two (2) teams from each group and position Play-off matches from third (3rd) to eighth (8th) place. The winner 🏆 of the tournament will advance to the Europe Qualifier in 2027.

Whilst France Cricket continues the process of independent recognition as a National Governing Body under the French Ministry of Sport, all national representative teams are required to compete as France Cricket in accordance with local regulations as stipulated by the French Government.
