The selection committee of ICC representative, Venkatpathy Raju, along with U-19 head coach Binod Das and coaches, Jung Bahadur Thapa/Dipendra Chaudhary have shortlisted 22 probables for a closed training camp for ACC U-16 Asia Cup Eastern Qualifiers, to be held in Thailand in Dec 2017.
Final squad will be closed amongst the 22 players, with other formalities including passport issuance still remaining to be completed. The squad will train at Tribhuvan University ground until Dec 08th, before leaving for Thailand.
The initial batch of 36 players (4 players each from 9 regions) was chosen through a talent hunt organised by Sushil Koirala Foundation and thereafter, the regional selection process. Further 9 players were added to the total group by the selection committee.
Sushil Koirala Memorial Foundation will be bearing all the expenses related to selection and training camp, as it’s an Asian Cricket Council event and not associated with ICC Global events to get funds from the ICC.
