Rain and more rain held the trump card on both Sunday and Monday as the 2nd WCL match between Hong Kong and Nepal was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to wet weather conditions.
The no result meant that both teams shared a point each from the match which effectively ends Nepal’s chances of finishing in the top 4 and are now relegated to ICC WCL Division 2 to be played in February 2018 in Namibia.
Cricket Hong Kong tweeted the following to confirm the match abandonment:
After another heavy shower, our @ICC #WCLC clash against @CricketNep has been abandoned. Each team will share 1 point each.

Hong Kong are now on 14 points, 2 points clear of Kenya (12 points) in the WCL points table with final round of matches to be played in December in UAE.
Nepal (9 Points) now join both UAE & Namibia in WCL Division 2 and will have another team join them after the final round of matches.
