53-yrs old James Moses leads Botswana to stunning victory over Namibia to win Africa “C” qualifiers

When you can take wickets, score runs and create run-out’s, who is to say that age is a number to be looked at is what Botswana’s James Moses would likely say as at a tender age of only 53 years, he created the biggest upset in all of the sub-regional qualifiers played in all the regions worldwide so far, with Botswana stunning Namibia in the final match of the Africa “C” qualifiers at home and win the tournament remaining unbeaten.

Both Namibia and Botswana were already qualified into the Africa regional finals, to be held in Uganda in 2019, after winning all their 5 group matches against Malawi, Mozambique, St Helena, Lesotho & Swaziland.

St Helena could not add up to their points tally as they lost both their final two games and finished on 6 points while Mozambique got few wins in their belt towards the end of the group stages to finish on similar points with St Helena, but the latter pipped them for the 3rd spot on higher net run-rate. However, it was a very impressive return to International cricket after a gap of 6 years for St Helena and certainly are on the right track to further progress and success.

Malawi managed to win 2 games in their campaign and finished on 4 points; however, the collaboration with PitchVision and ICC Africa saw them live stream the selected matches from the tournament on YouTube and it brought many people to watch the games online and see the talent on display in the African regional competitions.

None of the nations went empty-handed and Lesotho and Swaziland also registered a win each during the 7-nation tournament.
