The pathway for qualification for ICC World T20 in 2020 in Australia has been announced without much details on the teams & hosting countries. However, with whatever information is available with #Czarsportz, it has been mentioned below:

  1. 14 countries will compete in the Global Qualifiers for 6 spots in the main draw of ICC World T20 (Six teams from Last edition of World T20 held in 2016 who are not in Top 10 of ICC T20I rankings as of 31st Dec 2017 + The host’s for the Qualifiers + Seven teams from Five Regional Qualifiers (Asia, Africa, Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific))
  2. Top 25 teams from the Five sub-regional Qualifiers will compete for the 7 spots in the Regional Qualifers
  3. Africa & Europe will have 3 sub-regional groups while Asia, Americas & Asia-Pacific will have 2 sub-regional groups each
  4. In all, 61 countries will compete for the 7 qualification spots from Five regional qualifiers

Here is the information available and confirmed as of now:

  1. Americas sub-regional group 1: Argentina, Cayman Islands & Bermuda, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Argentina)
  2. Asia-Pacific sub-regional group 1: Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Fiji & Samoa, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Fiji)
  3. Africa sub-regional Southern group: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho & Malawi, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Botswana)
  4. Africa sub-regional Eastern group: Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Rwanda)
  5. Asia-Pacific sub-regional group 2: Philippines, Japan, Indonesia & Korea, from which winner will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Philippines)
  6. Asia sub-regional group 1: Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Maldives, Qatar, Saudi Arabia & Bahrain, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Kuwait)
  7. Europe sub-regional group A: Austria, Portugal, Germany, Cyprus, France & Denmark, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Netherlands)
  8. Europe sub-regional group B: Italy, Spain, Isle of Man, Belgium, Jersey & Finland, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Netherlands)
  9. Europe sub-regional group C: Gibraltar, Guernsey, Sweden, Czech Republic, Israel & Norway, from which top 2 will qualify for Regional Qualifiers (Hosted by Netherlands)
  10. Americas sub-regional group 2 (Likely): USA, Canada, Suriname and Panama
  11. Asia sub-regional group 2 (likely): Nepal, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Bhutan & Thailand
  12. Africa sub-regional Western group (likely): Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cote D’Iviore, Cameroon & Congo

The final three sub-regionals participating teams details will be updated as and when officially announced.
