Namibia secure easy victory over SW Districts in CSA Provincial 50-overs tournament

Namibia warmed up nicely for ICC WCL Division 2 event at home from Feb 08th – 15th, 2018 after they secured a comfortable 7-wickets victory over South Western Districts in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) provincial 50-overs competition.

The victory, which put Namibia 2nd in the points table, followed the Sunfoil 3-day match between the same opponents, which ended in a draw.

Namibia won the toss and put SW Districts to bat first and their bowlers did all the hard work to get them dismissed for 214 in 44.4 overs.

In reply, Namibia’s top-order batted in unison with their top 5 getting among the runs to chase down the target reaching 216/3 in 35.5 overs to win the match by 7 wickets.

Namibia now take part in the 6-team WCL Division 2 tournament for the final 2 qualification spots available for ICC World Cup Qualifiers, to be held in Mar 2018.
