Czarsportz analysis and top 5 Nepal players of Day 7 action from RUSLAN DPL2

Kathmandu Goldens continued their unbeaten winning streak in the 2018 RUSLAN Dhangadhi Premier League 2 as they dispatched the challenge by Biratnagar Kings in a crucial encounter to go 4 points clear from the rest of the group in the points table.

As seen like a pattern that has been the norm in the matches in DPL 2 so far, all teams are depending on 1 or 2 individual performances to have a team total in place to either chase or defend. The scenario wasn’t that different on the only match on day 7 of the competition, as Biratnagar Kings Babar Hayat and Kathmandu Goldens Gyanendra Malla scoring the lion-share of individual knocks in the entire match.

What was refreshing to see from Kathmandu Goldens is that domestic Nepal players contributed quite often than the domestic players in the other franchises. The bowling department still has some fine-tuning to do before the knock-out phase of the tournament begins. Kathmandu are almost certain now to finish in the top 2 after the conclusion of the group phase of the competition.

Biratnagar Kings have made their road a lot more tougher now with only one group phase match and they need to win it to ensure a top 4 finish and qualify for the knock-out’s. In a rare situation, both wicket-keepers in the match had a good outing with the bat.

There were some notable performances from Nepal domestic players and here’s the top 5 from day 7 of RUSLAN DPL 2:

  1. Gyanendra Malla (Kathmandu Goldens)
  2. Lalit Rajbanshi (Kathmandu Goldens)
  3. Bhupendra Thapa (Kathmandu Goldens)
  4. Dilip Nath (Biratnagar Kings)
  5. Basant Regmi (Biratnagar Kings)
