In what would be a repeat of the final from the ICC Women’s WorldT20 Africa qualifiers held in Zimbabwe last year, Uganda Women and Zimbabwe Women would face each other once again for the Zimbabwe Women’s T20 Challenge Title on 03rd May 2018.
Both teams were quite clearly the favourites going into the final round of group matches and with Tanzania failing to win both their final group matches, both were confirmed for the finale clash. Tanzania Women will face Namibia Women in the 3rd/4th play-off after the final is played at Takashinga ground.
The matches between Zimbabwe Women and Uganda Women have been close affairs and Tanzania Women have shown good progression after their equally impressive performances in ASEAN Women’s T20 Cup in Thailand. These very well could be the last T20 matches in a competitive tournament for Uganda Women, before they head to Netherlands in Jun 2018 for ICC Women’s WorldT20 qualifiers.
