Scotland “A” players are progressing well at the start of the 2018 season. After a successful tour of Bath in Apr 2018 where they won across T20/50-overs matches against Bath CC and Gloucestershire 2nd XI, they have now defeated Durham 2nd XI team in a 3-day game played at Emirates Riverside ground.
George Munsey and Dylan Budge continued their good form from their Bath tour as both hit brilliant centuries along with handy contributions from Chris Greaves and Riyaad Henry, posted a mammoth total of over 500+ runs after their bowlers set-up the match nicely for them by dismissing Durham 2nd’s well within 200 in their first innings.
It was a great outing for Scotland’s Hamza Tahir, Majid Haq’s cousin, who picked up a total tally of 8/153 in the match and Christian Robertson, who picked up 5/80 in the match across both the innings. Scotland’s National squad captain, Kyle Coetzer, travelled with the squad as part of the support staff and will be impressed with some of the performances as Scotland prepare for a bumper summer of Cricket as they face England in an ODI followed by two T20I’s against Pakistan at home and then travel to Netherlands for T20I Tri-series involving the host’s and Ireland.
