Afghanistan to face Kohli-less India in Maiden Test

Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) selectors have announced the 15-member squad to face ICC’s newest Test member, Afghanistan, in their maiden test to be held in Bengaluru in Jun 2018.

As expected, India’s first XI captain, Virat Kohli will not be taking part in the match as he will be heading to UK to play County Cricket for Surrey Cricket Club to prepare for India’s tour of England in Jul 2018.

It is now confirmed that Ajinkya Rahane will lead India in Afghanistan’s maiden test match from Jun 14th – 18th, 2018. Along with Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar are also not part of the squad announced by the selectors.
