Jersey Cricket continued their preparations towards ICC WorldT20 Europe Qualifiers, later this year, by playing 2 T20 games against the visiting Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Farmers CC ground.
In the first match, Jersey senior XI restricted MCC to 100/9 in their 20 overs and chased down the total by reaching 101/3 in the 16th over to register a comfortable victory. Correy Bisson top-scored with 39 runs in Jersey’s chase. Perchard and Sumeraurer picked up couple of wickets for Jersey senior XI while the rest of the attack also picked up a wicket each.
In the 2nd match, Jersey senior XI put up a competitive 156/6 in their 20 overs and then restricted MCC to 137/8 in their 20 overs to win the hard-fought game by 19 runs. Bisson again top-scored with 32 runs while Ben Stevens made 28 runs. Vielard picked up 4 wickets for MCC while Matt Donaldson picked up 3 wickets for Jersey senior XI.
Michael Ahier had a good outing for Jersey in the field as he collected 5 catches from both the games and contributed 17 runs, opening the innings in the 1st game of the day.
Jersey are also scheduled to play the Annual Inter-Insular series with Guernsey later this year, which will be played across 3 games in T20 format in 2018 to help both countries prepare for the Europe Qualifiers for WorldT20 in Netherlands.
