Uganda Cricket selectors and Head coach Steve Tikolo have announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC World T20 Africa “B” qualifiers in Rwanda from Jul 07th – 14th, 2018. Uganda go into the 4-nation tournament as firm favourites after their triumphant campaign in the recently concluded ICC WCL Division 4 in Malaysia.
After a successful run in the 50-overs format in the past couple of months including their promotion to ICC World Cricket League Championship Division 3, Uganda now turn their attention towards the T20 format of the game and will be competing against host’s Rwanda, along with Kenya and Tanzania for two qualification spots into the Africa regional finals, to be held in 2019.
Uganda national squad players have had plenty of domestic preparations coming into the tournament back home and will be looking forward to continue their good run in 2018 at Gahanga Oval in Kigali, Rwanda. After the conclusion of the event, all the teams will then head to Nairobi, Kenya to take part in Africa Cricket Association Africa T20 Cup regional qualifiers, where Seychelles will also join them to form the 5-nation event.
