Cricket Brazil will be hosting the Women’s National teams of Chile and Costs Rica in the 2026 Women’s South American Championships from September 22nd – 27th, 2026. The “A” team of Brazil will be taking part in the competition, and thus providing competitive exposure to upcoming players, as the Board creates a bigger pool of players for the senior team. Chile Women will be making their third (3rd) overall appearance in the South American Championships, having taken part in the editions held in 2018 and 2019, while Costa Rica Women will be making their maiden appearance in the tournament,
For Chile and Costa Rica, the South American Championships will be an opportunity to play International cricket, outside of bi-lateral series, which is very rare, considering the financial constraints for the Cricket Boards of these two (2) countries. However, both these teams played against each other in April this year, when Chile Women went to tour Costa Rica.
