The Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), along with The Cricketer, world’s oldest and best-selling cricket magazine, have combined together to create the T20 player performance index, which ranks the top players based on their performances across all T20I and major T20 tournaments held across the past 3 years period.
The latest 12-18 months data is given the maximum priority in determining a players rank along with playing conditions, context of match & context of performance also being accounted for the player. To know the various metrics used in determining the player rankings, click here.
The latest quarter’s list has been filled up by a huge number of players from Associate member countries, after ICC allowed T20I status to all T20 matches played between the Associate members. Netherlands pair of Roelof van der Merwe (83rd) and Colin Ackermann (84th), along with Sandeep Lamichhane (96th) from Nepal are the three players from Associate member countries, who are in the Top 100 list among global T20 stars.

Although Associate players do not get much opportunities to play franchise based T20 leagues across the globe, the sentiment is definitely on the change in the last couple of years with more Global leagues like GT20 Canada and Everest Premier League (Nepal) providing more broadcast exposure for the players to get noticed by scouts.
