Philippines announce squad for ICC T20 World Cup EAP Men’s Regional finals

Philippine Cricket Association (PCA) have announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Regional Final Qualifiers, to be hosted by Papua New Guinea from Mar 18th – 25th, 2019.

Philippines will be competing against the host’s PNG (Papua New Guinea) and Vanuatu in a double round-robin format event for one qualification spot into the T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in Oct/Nov 2019 (Venue not confirmed yet). All matches in the EAP regional finals will carry official T20I status and will count towards ICC Men’s T20I Team rankings, due to be announced around the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Philippines qualified from EAP sub-regional qualifiers, where they triumphed over the likes of Japan, Indonesia and South Korea, held in their own country in the final quarter of 2018.
