Netherlands “A” set for a busy summer schedule in 2019

201The 2019 Dutch summer will see Netherlands being part of International fixtures, the 2019 Topklasse season and the recently announced Euro T20 Slam. As much as the national senior squad members will be busy during the summer period in both domestic/international assignments and English county season commitments, the bench-strength of the “A” squad will be busy themselves with fixtures announced for them as the fringe players get the opportunities to stake a claim in the senior side set-up from the “A” team ranks.

Netherlands “A” will play against the likes of European Associate member countries like Belgium, Guernsey, Italy and Germany in the next 2-3 months. Netherlands “A” travelled to Guernsey in 2018 to kick-start the season and the 2019 arrangements will see them play 4 T20 matches in Jun 2019.

Italy and Germany will be in Netherlands to play their maiden T20I bi-lateral series and will play against Netherlands “A” to prepare for their series in May 2019. Belgium will be playing matches in both T20 and 50-overs formats in Apr 2019.

KNCB recently announced their summer squad along with a 9-member Elite Player Pathway Squad, that will train alongside the main national squad. The Netherlands “A” matches will provide head coach Ryan Campbell to have a good look into the International hopefuls ahead of the International series and a crucial 2020 season, that will see Netherlands take part in the 13-team ODI Super League, the pathway for 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup qualification.
