Netherlands to host 4-nation T20I Quadrangular before WWT20 Global Qualifiers

KNCB (Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond) will host a 4-nation Women’s T20I Quadrangular series from Aug 08th – 14th,2019 at Salland Cricket Club in Deventer, prior to global qualifiers in Scotland for 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Netherlands will compete against Ireland, Scotland and Thailand in a double round-robin format (6 T20I matches for each side) event. All four nations have already qualified to take part in the global qualifiers for 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup. All the four nations were part of the previous WWT20 global qualifiers held in Jul 2018 in Netherlands as well.

It will be a welcome opportunity for Thailand Women squad to prepare themselves ahead of the qualifiers and also get acclimatised to European conditions before a major ICC tournament. Scotland and Netherlands were recently part of the European qualifiers at La Manga in Spain. Few of their senior squad members were also part of the ICC Women’s Development Squad on their recent tour of UK, where they played against England Women’s Academy squad and two KIA Super League franchises in T20 matches.
