Women’s team’s from Thailand, Scotland and Ireland posted convincing wins over their opponents in the opening round of group stage fixtures in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in Scotland.
All matches were affected/interrupted by rain on the opening day, and the game between Bangladesh & Papua New Guinea was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The match will be now played on 02nd Sep 2019.
Thailand dominated Netherlands again as has been the case in the past month, even during the 4-nation T20I quadrangular series in Netherlands. Namibia managed to bat through their 20 overs, however, they would have liked to have atleast 25-30 runs more than what they got on board in the end. The target was never enough for Ireland, as they chased it down in their 15th over. Scotland continued their good form in the past couple of months, as USA’s ground fielding resulted in missed opportunities in the field and the batting came under pressure in the rising asking rate, as they lost wickets upfront and never recovered.
