Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHK) and Malaysia Cricket Association (MCA) have announced that the Men’s National teams will be playing each other in a three (3) match series on 06th, 08th and 09th February 2024. The series, to be known as the Interport series, was last played in 2020 in the T20 International format. The series will be played before the start of the 2024 East Asia Cup tournament in Hong Kong, and after the conclusion of the Tri-series involving Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and Canada in matches in the 50-overs format.
Both teams are preparing themselves for the upcoming ICC pathway competitions in 2024. While Malaysia Men will be competing in the ICC CWC Challenge League Play-off Qualifier at home in February 2024 to stake claim on one of the four (4) available spots into the Challenge League competition, Hong Kong Men will be competing in the ICC CWC Challenge League round scheduled for later this year. While Hong Kong players have been playing in the Premier League One-day domestic competition at home, Malaysia Men have been on tour of Sri Lanka to play practice One-day games against Local clubs before travelling to Hong Kong.
