Associates galore on show for 11th edition of US Open T20 in Florida

The 11th edition of the US Open T20, the ICC approved T20 League organised by Cricket Council USA (ccusa.info) will take place from Dec 19th – 22nd, 2019 at Central Broward Regional Park & Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida.

A staggering total of 28 team’s will be competing for the trophy with 7 groups comprising of 4 team’s each. The previously held editions in 2017 and 2019 saw a big number of West Indies players taking part in the competition along with players from other Associate member nations as well.

Division A Group 1: CT Blizzards, Florida International, Multan Sultan & UCT UAE Cricket

Division A Group 2: Chicago Catchers, Myrtle Grove Miami CC, Paramveer Tigers & Smashers

Division A Group 3: Houston Stars, Miami Shark, Mich-CA & Titans Cricket Club

Division A Group 4: California Kings, Nepali Rhinos CC, Somerset Cavaliers & Tigers Cricket Club

Division A Group 5: Afghan Zwanan CC, Florida Spartans, Global Sports & Punjab CC

Division A Group 6: Atlanta Griffin, Cavalier Kings, Faislabad Falcons & Ohio Falcons

Division A Group 7: Atlanta Fire, Florida Scorpions, GA Spartanz & Silicon Valley X Factors

Some of the prominent names among the Associate member players on show in the US Open T20 will be Safyaan Sharif (Florida Scorpions), Craig Wallace (Florida Scorpions), Michael Leask (Florida Scorpions), Stephan Myburgh (Netherlands), Sikander Zulfiqur (Netherlands), Safyaan Mehmood (Florida International), Munis Ansari (Florida International), Ali Khan (Multan Sultan), Jaskaran Malhotra (Multan Sultan), Rizwan Cheema (Multan Sultan), Saad bin Zafar (Multan Sultan), Timil Patel (Paramveer Tigers), Elmore Hutchinson (Paramveer Tigers), Delray Rawlins (Paramveer Tigers), Jessy Singh (Smashers), Navneet Dhaliwal (California Kings), Monank Patel (Somerset Cavaliers), Nisarg Patel (Cavalier Kings) and Junaid Siddiqui (Faislabad Falcons).

Afghan Zwanan CC consists of many active Afghanistan national and domestic players, while Nepali Rhino CC consist of some ex-national squad players. Most of the other squads have many Windies domestic and International players in the squads as usual. However, the number of teams with good depth in terms of T20 specialists are more compared to the last year’s edition and should provide for much more close contests.
