Cricket Namibia (CN) have announced that they will be hosting the men’s senior national side of Netherlands (Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond) from Mar 25th – Apr 01st, 2020 in a ODI & T20I home series. All matches in the series will be played at the Wanderers ground in Windhoek.
The series will provide Namibia the preparations for the 7th round of CWC League 2 Championship, which they will be hosting from Apr 20th – 27th, 2020 and host Nepal and Scotland in the ODI Tri-series. The Netherlands home series will comprise of 2 ODI matches and 4 T20I matches. Netherlands have a packed home summer schedule, that includes hosting the likes of New Zealand and Pakistan and the tour of Namibia will provide head coach Ryan Campbell the opportunity to get the ball rolling as the squad comes together for the first series of 2020.
Both Namibia and Netherlands will be part of 2020 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup come Oct 2020 in Australia, and the 4 T20I matches will be the first of many matches, that will help in the build-up to the mega event, as the players get into the groove of things and the series will also provide the team’s to try out new players or playing XI combinations few months in advance.
