Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced some strategic and important decisions following the conclusion of their central working committee meeting. The decisions are mainly focused towards the financial well-being of the national squad members and also provide a domestic set-up for cricket.
24 national men’s squad players will be provided professional central contract’s. The players will be categorised under grades of A+, A, B and C (Amount not disclosed yet). Similarly, 18 national women’s squad players will also be provided contracts and will be seggregated under grades of A, B and C.
Men’s national squad members will be provided with match fees of Rs.5000 each for both ODIs and T20I matches (nothing disclosed for regular 50-overs/List-A or T20 matches). The rule gets implemented for all matches played till date from 01st Jan 2020.
The most important decision that came from the meeting was the announcement of Senior National One Day tournament for the players, which will be taking place in Mar/Apr 2020.
