Japan Cricket to host 2022 edition of Women’s East Asia Cup in October 2022

Japan Cricket Association (JCA) will be hosting the Women team from Hong Kong in the 2022 edition of the Women’s East Asia Cup tournament at the Kaizuka Cricket Field, in Kaizuka City, Osaka from October 27th – 30th. Both the countries will compete in a four (4)-match WT20I series to determine the winners, after China Women and South Korea Women withdrew from participation from this year’s event.

China Women are the defending Champions from the last edition of the women’s tournament held in 2019 in South Korea, along with their triumph in the inaugural edition in 2015, while Hong Kong Women were the winners in the 2017 edition held at their home ground. All the four member countries had formulated a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the tournament including the hosting rights for the Women’s edition from 2021-2024, as the previous one had expired at the end of 2019.
