UAE Cricket to host Women’s T20I matches ahead of Global Qualifier

With the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier set to begin in Abu Dhabi from April 25th, the participating teams are making arrangements, as part of their final preparations towards the event, and UAE Cricket (Emirates Cricket Board) are set to host three (3) of the participating countries in Scotland, Netherlands and United States of America (USA) in a T20I Quadrangular series from April 16th – 19th, 2024 at Zayed Cricket stadium and Tolerance Oval in Abu Dhabi. However, due to the most bizarre and unexpected weather conditions in Dubai in the lead-up to the tournament, all matches in the tournament got cancelled and the two (2) venues are being prepared now for the upcoming Global Qualifier.

Cricket PNG (Papua New Guinea) Women’s team, who will be touring UAE in the first week of April 2024, have also scheduled one-off ODIs with Scotland and USA, apart from three (3) games against the host’s (the format yet to be announced), so all the teams will already have played competitive cricket to begin their preparations for the Global Qualifier. Women’s National teams of Ireland and Thailand will also be playing couple of T20Is at the Tolerance Oval in Abu Dhabi on 16th and 18th April, while the teams in the Quadrangular series play at Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi.
