Cricket Ireland (CI) have announced that the Men’s National team will be on a tour of United Arab Emirates from January 23rd – 31st, 2025, where they will be playing Bi-lateral T20 International series (with ICC team ranking points) with United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Italy. These series will be part of preparation for all the three (3) teams, before they head to India and Sri Lanka for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The series between Ireland and Italy will be the maiden bi-lateral series between the two (2) teams, who have previously met only once in T20Is before, during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier in Scotland in July 2023.
After completing their preparations in Dubai, Ireland Men will travel to Sri Lanka, where they will play Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Oman as part of Group B in the T20 World Cup. Italy Men will travel to India, where they will play England, West Indies, Bangladesh and Nepal as part of Group C, while UAE Men will travel to India, where they will play South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Canada as part of Group D in the event.
