Back in 2020-2021, Guatemala Cricket began to organize domestic matches at their newly laid turf-pitch wicket ground, which provided opportunities to the likes of Widman Chicop, Antony Vicente, Kevin Lopez Monterroso, Juan Sepez and others to play the sport they love, and also build team relationships and bonding, which helped the young team develop their overall skills. During the month of February 2021, Gautemala Cricket prepared their own turf wicket for the national and domestic players, but International matches could not take place in the past couple of years owing to COVID-19 pandemic.
Gautemala Cricket had given formal invitations to men’s team from El Salvador and Costa Rica to play International matches in 2021, and have been successful this year to have got them to play games during April and May.
