Belgium Cricket Federation (BCF) men’s national squad captain, Shaheyrar Butt, will be seen donning the colors of Cricket Club Sparta 1888 in the 2021 TopKlasse (domestic) season in Netherlands. He will be transferring from his club in Belgian domestic circuit, Antwerp.
Butt makes his return in Dutch Topklasse competitions after representing VOC and Dosti United clubs earlier in his career. Butt was in the headlines in 2020 for creating a T20I World record, when he scored a half-century and century on the same day in two T20I matches. The feat was achieved at Pierre Werner cricket ground during the Luxmbourg T20I Trophy, when he scored 81 (45) and 125 n.o (50) against Czech Republic.
Shaheryar Butt will have a busy period coming up shortly in International cricket, as Belgium will be hosting 10 T20I games (4 matches against Malta and 3 each against Romania and Austria) in their home summer, that also includes the ICC T20 World Cup Europe sub-regional qualifiers in July 2021.
