Women’s World Cups to have more members participation

Women’s World Cup and Women’s T20 World Cup from 2026 will have more spots for member countries in terms of participation, as ICC (International cricket council) announced the development on International Women’s Day.

The 2026, 2028 and 2030 editions of the Women’s T20 World Cup will see 12 nations take part in the competition, with 2024 edition to have the same format as 2020, with 10 nations competing for the title.

The 2025 Women’s World Cup will have the same format as 2017 and 2022, with 8 nations competing. The 2029 edition however will have 10 nations competing for the title.

Apart from this, ICC will also organize the Women’s T20 Champions Trophy event in 2027 and 2031, and will be a 6-team competition.

The qualification pathway programs for the extended Women’s World Cup and T20 World Cup will be announced in due course of time.
