DCB (German Cricket Federation) have unveiled their 5-year strategic plan that includes visibility, performance, women’s cricket and governance as the pivotal and key points.
DCB plans for 2021-2025 mainly focuses on the growth of the sport on and off the field:
1. Integration into the German sports landscape as DCB aims to attain full membership of The German Olympic Sports Confederation (“ Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund”) and also have the coaches and officials qualifications recognised by the DOSB.
2. Participation in terms of more people playing the sport in the country, and also includes coaches, umpires and scorers.
3. Women’s and girls program will be a major focus point for the Board, and the aim is to have more teams in both senior and junior level competitions. Also, a substantial increase in the overall number of female coaches and umpires in the country.
4. Junior cricket is an area where the DCB plans to enroll the sport in more than 200 schools as part of their curriculum and have a good amount of children participate in the program. The U19 domestic structure will have both regional and national championships.
5. Performance will be key for the senior teams in the coming 5-year period as the Board targets below-20 team rankings in the T20 format of the game for both men’s and women’s teams.
6. Social Profiles, live streaming of national and international matches, and securing capital through sponsorships and partnerships are also an integral part of the focus plan.
