Cricket Namibia to hold Bowling camp in collaboration with Allan Donald

Cricket Namibia (CN) have announced that the Men’s national Head coach Pierre de Bruyn will be organizing an Eagles White Ball training camp commencing on the 13th – 18th May 2021 in collaboration with former South African pace bowler Allan Donald. Donald will join fellow former South African pace bowler Albie Morkel during the bowling sessions at the Eagles camp. Morkel has been a part of the current Namibian coaching set-up for sometime now.

De Bruyn said in the official press release “Looking at the recent tours against Uganda and SA Emerging, it is clear that bowling in white ball cricket is becoming harder for bowlers to dominate.”

The U19 National players are also going to be present at the camp to improve their bowling skills ahead of ICC Africa regional qualifiers towards 2022 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup. “It is a great opportunity for the U19 bowlers to be involved and to use this opportunity to expand their thinking and strategies.” De Bruyn said.

Cricket Namibia also confirmed the future scheduled fixtures for 2021, that involves the CWC League 2 tri-series against Scotland and Nepal in June in Scotland, a Pink Series in August against the Titans franchise in South Africa, and eventually head off to India for the T20 World Cup in October.
