Jersey Cricket Board (JCB) and Guernsey Cricket Board (GCB) will be competing in the annual Inter-Insular series in men’s, women’s, U18 and other age-group categories in 2022, with both boards hosting the games across the one-day and T20 formats. The U11/13/15 matches in the junior category will also be played on 15th May 2022 at FB Fields. The Women’s series will feature 3 matches being played in the WT20I format on June 25th and 26th (JCB to host the matches), with ranking points on offer towards ICC Women’s T20I team rankings table.
The Men’s T20I matches will take place on 20th and 21st May 2022 at College Field and KGV grounds, with T20I team ranking points on offer. The traditional 50-overs format comes back into the picture this year as well, as JCB will host the game on 03rd September 2022, with the U18 game set to take place on 04th September. Guernsey men’s squad are travelling to Hampshire to take part in a training camp at the Ageas Bowl, under the guidance of the coaching staff that includes high performance coach Nic Pothas, spin bowling coach Jeremy Frith and team manager Lee Forshaw, as reported by Guernsey Press Sport.
Jersey and Guernsey men’s teams have a busy schedule in 2022, with bi-lateral, T20I tri-series, ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers and Challenge League rounds taking place in the upcoming 4-5 months period. Jersey women’s team are also scheduled to take part in multiple International series/matches both at home and overseas in 2022.
