Asian Games 2026 Cricket Teams

Group A: Nepal, Thailand and Indonesia

Group B: Oman, Singapore and Maldives

Group C: Hong Kong-China, Bahrain and South Korea

Group D: Malaysia, Qatar, China and Uzbekistan

The previous edition of Asian Games in Hangzhou, which featured cricket as a medal discipline, did not see any participation from any Gulf region cricket boards, due to player eligibility rules of Regional Games, which are different to ICC eligibility rules. Hence, As per the discussion held in 2024 between the Associate Cricket boards in the Gulf region (UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain), all countries have started developing their own Squads made up of Nationals, with the intention to field them in future Asian Games or Olympics (if there is any qualification events for that). Oman Cricket were the first to announce their development team, which now takes part in domestic T20 competitions and has also played a bi-lateral series with all-Bahraini team. And in the qualifier, the all-Omani, all-Bahraini and all-Qatari teams will be competing, and all the matches will be carrying ICC Men’s T20I team ranking points.
