Bulgarian Cricket Federation (BCF) will be hosting Men’s national squads from Serbia, Romania and Greece in a 4-nation T20I tournament named as Sofia T20 from June 24th – 27th, 2021. The tournament will carry official T20I ranking points towards ICC Men’s T20I team rankings table.
All the teams will play each other in a single round-robin group stage format, followed by semifinals and the finals. With European T20 World Cup sub-regional qualifiers getting cancelled by ICC, the tournament will provide much required International cricket exposure for the players, who have not been in action since October 2020 (Bulgaria and Romania), while for the players from Greece and Serbia, it would end a wait since October 2019 when they made their T20I debut during the Hellenic Premier League.

Bulgaria men’s squad were last seen in action during September and October 2020, when they played against both Romania (4-match T20I series known as Balkan Cup 2020) and Malta in bi-lateral T20I series. Greece and Serbia currently are not featured in the ICC T20I team rankings on the account of not having played the required number of matches to get a ranking. However, with 4 T20I games guaranteed in the Sofia T20 tournament for all the countries, both the countries will make their entry in the rankings table.
